Hi Chijioke,

Yes a born again believer does get disturbed with evil thoughts, may be willingly or unwillingly,
as we are in the process of getting confirmed to the image of Christ and this will go on till
Jesus returns, who will change our bodies.

What a believer should do in this case is, to get immune (overcome) to those thoughts by:
looking at the obedience of Christ on the cross: Him-fulfilling the work of redemption, salvation of the mankind.

Jesus was 100% obedient to our father in heaven, in taking our sins on Himself, (imputed), paying full penalty, taking OUR condemnation on Himself at the cross.

Then, His righteousness was imputed to us for good, for one-time. Then, we are declared righteous by God and there is now no condemnation to us, ever, because of Jesus's obedience.

Our obedience is to : trust in Jesus's obedience at the cross and know by heart and declare that We are righteous forever as per God's seal of approval for our faith in Jesus's perfect work of obedience.

What you are going through is a spiritual warfare, wherein the devil, others or your own conscience are trying to condemn you, showing your shortcomings, as these evil thoughts pass through your mind.

This is common to all believers including the Apostle Paul, Peter, John,...because of our body and un-renewed mind ...which has not completely understood Jesus and His Great work.

So, a believer should STAND firm, ROOTED in faith, in Jesus's righteousness gifted to us, apart from works, and declare firmly the truth that is: "I am the righteousness of God, now and forever, because of Jesus's obedience at the cross and not because of my own works. Amen"

Pl. feel free to ask me more on this, if you are not clear. These are real spiritual battles in every believer's life and it requires a fight of faith to STAND in the victory Jesus obtained for us and not try to add our fleshly efforts or merits to Jesus's completed work.

Our weapon is FAITH in the person of Christ, His word, His perfect righteousness imputed to us.
There is no condemnation,,ever for us, due to that fact..the truth..Christ Jesus Himself took away our sins for once and for good.

Faith in the words of Christ Jesus is the key.

The Truth is, as we know that:, we know- that we know that: we ARE already righteous, in the present tense, all evil thoughts seem like a joke and the devil seems like a comedian, a joker, an entertainer..thats all

It is like if I am already healed, handsome and healthy because of Jesus's wounds, His scourging s, my body becomes immune to all the deadly viruses.

I suggest a believer should meditate on Romans chapters 5 and 8, Colossians 1 and 2, daily to stay well spiritually.

Grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Amen

3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,

4for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.

5We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

6and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

John 6

28Therefore they said to Him, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?"

29Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."

Colossians 2

6Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

7having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

Bottom line is:

1. Don't accept any condemnation or judgement on yourself by:
yourself, others or devil + his team. God DECLARED you righteous when you put your faith in Jesus.
I mean just ignore or reject any condemnation to you, because that is a lie. Jesus is the truth.

2. Declare by faith (present perfect tense) " I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus right now and forever"

3. Meditate on these verses:, in their proper "tense" (past-preset-future) after personalizing them.

Romans 5:19
19For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners,
even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

Romans 8:

1Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

30and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

33Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies;

34who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

35Who will separate us from the love of Christ?


Philippians 1

6For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.


Be blessed brother, because of Jesus's work of redemption, just because He loves you just as you are and forever.
