You are right. 1 John 5:16 and Hebrews 6:4-6 refer to the same.
Both the epistles were written to the jews.
Hebrews was written to the born-again jews, who were doubting their salvation and whether Jesus himself as their saviour,
due to the persecutions on their lives.
Same situation like, John the baptist who doubted Jesus when he was in prison. (Matthew 11:2-11)
Remember he questioned whether Jesus is the messiah or whether he has to wait for someone else.
1 John was written to the born-again and non-born-again jews (agnostics).
1 John 5:16 refers to the non-born-again jews, who were not sure about Jesus as their saviour, whether to accept Him or not.
In the vocabulary of those days, the act of believing was equivalent to the action.
Spiritually it is the same. It is what we believe that produces our behaviour.
Our salvation happens by the same principle. (Romans 10:9-10)
So, the belief as to: 1. whether Jesus is Lord or 2.Jehovah of old-testament is Lord, was their problem.
So, rejecting Jesus as Lord is the sin that leads to death in 1 John 5:16
In Hebrews 6:4-6, denying Jesus, rejecting his sacrifice and rejecting the Spirit of Grace is equal to the same.
There is no other name given to men and women apart from the name of Jesus to receive salvation.
(Acts 4:12)
Grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Amen
