John 12 vs 21

In the world we are living in today people go to great lengths to see things that interest them. some will save to go and see the latest opera in town. some can not wait to see the latest release of a movie, or go to see their NBA star in action. People always do their best to see things that interest them.

Is it not amazing that in church today poeple are coming in to see:

a) who is driving the latest car

b) who is wearing the latest fashion

c) who is wearing the best hair do

d) what will the pastor be wearing today

To many of us our motivation to coming to church has changed. However I belive that God is calling us to come to church to see Jesus not man, not miracles, not the elders or bishops. We need to identify with the Greeks whose motive was to see the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.

Now is the time to make every effort in our lives as believers to change our motive of coming to church. If you were to think what was your reason of going to church yesterday, what would you say?

Let us choose to see Jesus the son of the LIving god as we meet as a body of Christ.
